H&S Policy

[Health and Safety at Work Act 1974]

It is the policy of Francis Brown Limited to ensure that the responsibilities for Health and Safety, Welfare and Environmental issues are properly assigned, accepted and fulfilled at all levels of the business.

Francis Brown Limited ensures practical steps are taken to safeguard the Health, Safety and Welfare of all employees and visitors to its premises and during operations under their control.

Health and Safety is promoted throughout the business to establish and sustain aims and measurable Objectives in an environment of continuous improvement.

Senior management is responsible for the ongoing review of these aims & objectives, including:

  • Systems to identify hazards and assess, monitor and control risks.
  • Maintenance of plant, equipment and systems of work to ensure that they are safe, understood and without risk to health.
  • Adequate arrangements for the use, handling, storage and transportation of articles and substances which are safe and without risk to health.
  • Consultation with employees on matters affecting their health and safety.
  • Employee involvement initiatives such as “near misses”, “take two’s” and “good spots”, monthly safety meetings
  • Information, instruction, training and supervision to secure the health and safety at work of all employees.
  • Regular review and communication of emergency procedures and risk assessments.
  • Providing facilities with a safe, risk-free working environment.
  • Review and revision of this policy as necessary at regular intervals.
  • Maintain established health and safety initiatives each month
  • A positive promotion of health & safety performance
  • Working towards ISO 45001 certification
  • Continuous reduction in the number of accidents/incidents
  • Pro-activeness in the reporting of “near miss”, and “good spot” incidents
  • Consultation with employees regarding continuous improvement

This Policy forms the basis for Francis Brown Limited Health & Safety Management System, through which it seeks to continually improve standards of Health and Safety at all levels and in all activities.
